+Hymn No. UMH 334

Sweet, Sweet, Spirit

Call To Worship

One: In the very beginning, God separated the darkness and the light. God called the Light "Day" and the Darkness, God called "Night".

All: We were once people who dwelled in darkness, but God has given us the true Light, Jesus Christ.

One: God has blessed us and adopted us as God’s own beloved children, through the sacrament of Baptism.

All: The water of baptism brings to us healing and reconciliation; it is a symbol of nourishment and cleansing.

One: This day is the day of the remembrance of Jesus’ Baptism.

All: As we hear the words of his baptism, let us be reminded of our own adoption by God and celebrate the joyous connection to the Almighty God.

Opening Prayer

All: Lord, thank You for the people You have divinely placed in my life who speak holy truth, love and words of wisdom. Give me a heart of discernment to know when You are using someone to speak instruction into my heart and my circumstances, and give me the strength and courage to follow through with that advice, even when it’s hard. Fill me with peace in the new year ahead. And all God’s children say, “Amen!”

+Hymn No. 333

I’m Going To Sing When The Spirit Says Sing

Prayer of Confession

All: We cannot come before God unless we are first honest with ourselves about who we are, about the mistakes we make, and about how well or how poorly we care for others. In this spirit, let us offer our prayers to God.

Words of Assurance

Leader: By the grace of God you are forgiven.

All: Thanks be to God, Amen.

Recalculation Meeting Jan. 29th after 2nd Worship Service

It has been a while since the Church recalculated its Mission, Vision, and Plan to better align with each other so that we can be the Church that lives, serves, and has fun like Jesus. After Worship on the 29th the Admin. Council will do this work together.

Catch me for Coffee

Most mornings Monday-Thursday from about 7:45 a.m. until about 10 a.m. I am working at Crowfoot Valley Coffee on 734 Wilcox St. Feel free to swing by and grab a drink of choice and talk to me you will not be bothering me if I have my laptop up and typing away. If you want to meet me there to chat just give me a heads-up to make sure I am going to be in the coffee shop.

What is Your Strength? Join us on Jan. 23rd at 6:30 p.m. and find out.

Have you ever wondered what your strength is? You may think you know but sometimes things that are strengths go unnoticed or underused. Would you like to learn from your strengths? If so join me for a Zoom meeting to talk about the Strengthsfinder assessment and the book Living Your Strengths: Discover Your God-Given Talents and Inspire Your Community on Jan. 23rd at 6:30 p.m.

I will have copies of the book for sale in my office for $20.00 you will need an unused copy of the book because it has a code for the assessment. We learned from the Ad. Council taking the assessment that the Kindle version of the book does not provide a digital code for the assessment.

Before the meeting please take the assessment (code for assessment in the book) and read the first three chapters of the book. Please register for the zoom meeting at https://bit.ly/crfumcstrengths
