A big thank you to those who participated in the Community Kids Trunk or Treat. We had over 100 children, 25 trunks, and 150 hotdogs served by the scouts. Also a big thank you to all those who donated candy for the event. Kudos to Community Kids. There are some pictures in this month's newsletter.
This Sunday Food Bank Donations: This will be the last Sunday for our Fall Food Drive. Please bring your bags and leaving them at the Food Pantry cart.
The Castle Rock Symphony Concert has been reset for this coming Sunday, Nov. 5th. The concert begins at 6 pm.
Opportunities for Fellowship and Lunch: Leah Circle (UWIF) will meet at 11:45 on November 9 (lunch provided); the Men’s Group will meet at 11:30 on November 16 at Pegasus (send Larry Pratt your reservation at lkpratt45@yahoo.com).
The All Saints Day Banner is available at the Welcome Center for anyone who wishes to add a name for remembrance.
Helping with Our Church History: The church’s Sesquicentennial Committee is looking for help with updating the history records of our church for the anniversary celebration planned for next summer. Folks can work independently or with a partner on small segments of the history. Please reach out to Laryce Nitsch if you have questions or would like to help.
The Chrismons Repair Session on October 19 resulted in over 30 ornaments being refreshed. Thanks to those who helped sort through the Chrismons and replace missing pieces. We have a few more to complete and will finish up on Thursday, November 16. If you can help, please join us at noon.
Dinner Groups: Our Dinner/Lunch Groups will soon begin gathering for a time of food, fellowship, and fun. If you signed up, your Core Group Leader will contact you. If you missed signing up or have questions, please ask Pastor Matt.

Little Blessings The Holiday Gift Catalog raised over $1400 for School Supplies for Little Blessings. Thanks go to everyone who supported this fundraiser. Watch for the Butter Braids order form coming in November.
Celebrate Women’s Christmas – Saturday, December 2, from 10 am – 2 pm, all women are invited to celebrate Women’s Christmas. This is a time for women to take a few hours near the beginning of the holiday season to refocus, relax, and renew. Feel free to invite a friend. Lunch will be provided. The day will be led by Julie Bailey and Rev. Brenda Lear. Sign up at the Welcome Center or by emailing Rev. Brenda at b.clear.72@gmail.com.
Time and Talent is November 5. There will be a blended church service at 9 am. Chairman Mike Vitek reports: “This is our Church’s annual fundraiser for: our youth’s mission trip; Trustees to purchase equipment for the Church; and the Mission Team to assist local mission(s). Our goal this year is to raise at least $7,250. Red pledge forms are available at the Welcome Desk and need to be returned by Thursday, November 2nd. They can be placed in the offering plate or returned to the Church office.”
Plans for our church’s 150th anniversary are underway. Please save the date — August 25, 2024 — for the culminating worship service. Other activities are being planned and wil be announced in coming months. Our next meeting will be Noonday, O tower 8 at 6 pm in the church library.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study will begin an Advent Study on November 28 when Rev. Matt will lead our discussion of Matt Rawle’s Experiencing Christmas: Christ in the Sights and Sounds of Advent, which is also the source of his Advent sermons and a Zoom discussion group (time TBA). If you would like to purchase the book and/or participate in the Zoom discussion, sign up at the Welcome Center. You may also purchase the book on your own at cokesbury.com or amazon.com . Prior to the Advent study, the Tuesday morning group will devote the next few weeks to a study of Scripture provided in the Common Lectionary. Join us in November, Advent, and the New Year — Tuesday morning at 9:30 in the church library.

Begins its study of Five Marks of a Methodist: The Fruit of a Living Faith by Steve Harper on October 16 at 6:30 pm (in person) and on October 20 at 6:30 pm (Zoom) . A signup sheet will be at the welcome center Is currently available, or you can contact Rev Sarah at sms11@mindspring.com to let us know you plan to attend. Books are available on Amazon. Please make sure you check the author’s name as there is a book with almost the same title by another author.

Chancel Choir rehearsals have resumed on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 -7:00 pm. Please contact Nancy Docksey at 303-877-9085 if you are interested. In singing with the choir or joining the Bell Choir, which rehearses from 4 to 5:30 pm. and offers another opportunity to share in our church’s music ministry.

Grocery Story Card Update: Currently we have over 50 families participating in this program. We receive about $450/quarter from King Soopers. Check the welcome center for directions for signing up for the first time with them. The Safeway Cards are now available. Contact the church office to pick one up.. We have received approximately $250/quarter from Safeway. There is no dollar amount on them this time so folks will just pick up a card and head to Safeway to load the amount they choose to have on it . NOTE: You may use the money you have remaining on the old card, but you will not be able to reload it.
