Prison Ministry Backpacks:

This Sunday through March 23 you can still pick up a card to help fill the backpacks for the Douglas County Sheriff Detention Center or, if you don’t have time to shop for the items, please consider making a monetary donation.  All donations help with the purchase of backpacks as well what is placed inside them, including grocery gift cards and devotional materials. The supplies for the backpacks need to be returned to the church by Sunday, March 30. If you are writing a check, please write “backpack ministry” in the reminder line and drop it in the Sunday morning offering or leave it at the office. Your gifts and donations are greatly appreciated.

Little Library

The Little Library has been refreshed with a few new books that will bring reading pleasure to you in the upcoming spring and summer months. Take a minute to browse and/or bring in a title you’ve enjoyed reading. You may borrow a book for keeps or exchange one book for another. If you have bundles of books to give away, we encourage you to drop them at Help and Hope at 1638 Park Street in Castle Rock, Monday-Friday between 9am and 12pm or Saturdays from 9am - 2pm.

Refreshing the Church Library

Our church library has a number of books and atlases related to Biblical history, theology, and Methodism, as well scrapbooks and archives of our own church history. Most are worth keeping and making available to any church member. We are looking for a few people (and someone to serve as chairperson) to sort through, reorganize the shelves, remove/donate superfluous items, develop a check-out system, and prepare a one-page overview of the library’s contents. If you are interested in being a part of this project, please sign up at the welcome desk.

“Song of the Shadows” Cantata

On March 30 at 10:45am you are invited to worship in a new way as our expanded Chancel Choir presents “Song of the Shadows,” a musical blending of voices, piano, flute, and drum intertwined with Scripture, narratives and prayer.

As the story of Holy Week comes to life, you walk with Jesus as He enters Jerusalem to loud Hosannas, prays in the Garden of Gethsemane,  breaks bread with His disciples, stands before Pilate and the Hebrew leaders, bears the cross to Cavalry, and suffers and dies for our sins. Join us in person or online, and consider sharing the YouTube link with your family and friends near and far. There is only one service that day, but it will be a powerful one.

The four New Testament Gospels aren't the same story, but they offer the same Resurrection hope. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John devote most of their story detailing Jesus' last week in Jerusalem, all highlighting Jesus' triumphant entry into the city, the suffering and humiliation of the cross, and the empty tomb come Sunday morning, but the stories they tell aren't quite the same.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study Meets Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. in the Library. They will be finishing up their Study on the Ten Commandments then Studying the Lectionary readings of the week.

The Disciple’s Table: Meeting Time and Day: 6:00 p.m. on Sundays during Lent. Sign Up Sheet at the Welcome Desk in the Church.  A sacred gathering where all generations come together to share in fellowship, grow in faith, and walk the path of discipleship. Rooted in the Lenten journey, we explore how our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness shape our commitment to Christ. Around the table, we learn from one another, encourage each other, and seek to follow Jesus more fully in our daily lives. All are welcome as we journey together on The Disciple’s Path.
