Looking for Giving Tree Angels

Thanks to all who have contributed to the gift requests for the South Elementary children. Those gifts need to be returned by this Sunday, December 8. Tags for monetary gifts/donations to be given to nursing homes are now available for pickup. This is a change from previous years when we shopped for individual gifts. Anonymous donors have already purchased requested items to fill Christmas stockings for residents of Silver Heights. Donation tags currently available will pay for the following: dementia products including memory games, activity boards, puzzles, and cognitive crafts for the memory care unit at Brookside. Donations will also pay for grocery cards purchased through the church for South Ridge Elementary (for which the church will receive a 5% return from the grocer). If you are able to contribute, please tag your check “giving tree.” Questions?  Marcia Schmid at schmid3@comcast.net or. Bonnie Thompson at bjthompson1965@msn.com

Be a Point Person! With the Flying W event and the Fall Color Tour over Guanella Pass offering great opportunity for fellowship, what would you like to do as a group? Please share your ideas with Pastor Matt and volunteer to be the point person for coordinating the event.

It’s a “win-win” when you use your Safeway or King Soopers community card to purchase nonperishables for our December Reverse Advent Calendar for Help and Hope. 5% of your money spent is returned to the church. And it’s a “win-win-win” if you pay with a card that provides airline miles or other perks. Lists of items for each week can be picked up at the Welcome Desk.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study is in recess until January 7 when we will begin our study of Words of Life:Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today by Adam Hamilton. The books are available for purchase on line.

Cookies, Cocoa, and Carols was a joy-filled event following our viewing of the Christmas Pageant movie at AMC. Thank you to our accompanists, Jeri Groves and Pat Hammond, our enthusiastic song leader, Gail Hammond, and all who contributed cookies, cocoa, and exuberant singing.

Our Shared Space Cleanup: We have made a change to our cleaning company and to help we are asking you that when using the church space, we kindly ask that you ensure it is left clean and ready for the next group. Please take all trash to the dumpster, vacuum the floors, return tables and chairs to original places and tidy up any areas used during your time here. Your attention to these details helps maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone who shares this space. Blue Christmas Service Invitation

For many, the holiday season can be a time of reflection, longing, or quiet sorrow. If you’re carrying heavy burdens or simply need a moment of stillness amidst the holiday rush, we invite you to our Blue Christmas Service on Wednesday, December 18th, at 6:30 p.m. This intimate, contemplative service is designed to bring comfort, hope, and healing for those facing challenges or grief. Come as you are, and find a space where your heart can be held and your spirit renewed.

Christmas Eve Service Invitation

Celebrate the joy and wonder of Christ’s birth with us this Christmas Eve! We offer three worship opportunities: 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. Each service is filled with the beauty of carols, the warmth of candlelight, and the timeless story of God's love come to earth. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly gathering or the peaceful quiet of midnight worship, there’s a place for you here. Bring your loved ones, neighbors, and friends as we extend the invitation of Christmas to our whole community. Together, let’s share the light and love of Jesus this season!

Daily Scripture Readings

Monday: Zephaniah 3:14-20

Tuesday: Isaiah 12:2-6

Wednesday: Philippians 4:4-7

Thursday: Luke 3:7-18

Prayer:

God who comforts our minds and hearts in times of worry and fear, we choose to bring our concerns into your peaceful presence. Just as Jesus proclaimed peace to the wind and the waves, we proclaim peace over our minds, our relationships, our community, our neighbors, and the world. Make us laborers of peace, partnering with you to create a world of justice and peace. We know where there is no justice, peace does not prevail. May your peace, justice, and love reign. Amen.

Loving God we lift up to you…
