A huge thank-you and kudos to Mike Vitek & his dedicated auction team, to FUMCCR Youth Team who served lunch, to Josh Hay, Pat & Kay Jones for moving the auction along so smoothly, to all who donated items, and to all who purchased something. This year, we surpassed our goal and can report over $21000 was raised in support of our Youth, our Missions, and our Trustees.
Sesquicentennial Stars need to be turned in by November 1. Please leave them at the table in the Narthex. Many of these stars will be part of the tree our church is sponsoring in Festival Park during the holiday season.
Cookbook Recipes are due December 1: Your shared recipes may be ones your family has used for decades or ones you use over and over again and enjoy sharing at our church potlucks. Help us make the cookbook even better by including a sentence or two on its history or the occasion everyone looks forward to having it served. Drop your recipes in the collection box at the Welcome desk or email it to Kari Sarah at kasorah@yahoo.com

The Book: The Christmas Letters by Magrey R deVega
In "The Christmas Letters," Magrey deVega invites readers to explore the miracle of Christ's birth through the New Testament Epistles, which reflect the early church's efforts to comprehend and celebrate the Incarnation. This Advent, by engaging with letters like Romans, 1 John, Philippians, and Colossians, you can deepen your understanding of Jesus as both fully human and fully divine, and experience the profound meaning of His coming.

A Note from Bishop Kristin Stoneking
Greetings Mountain Sky annual conference. It’s Bishop Kristin Stoneking coming to you form the Eastern Plains of Colorado where I am with the cabinet for a few days. So grateful to be here on the high prairie which reminds me of my growing up years in Kansas. I want to share with you an update on our United Methodist and conference response to the impacts of hurricanes Milton and Helene.
As you know, the devastation from Western North Carolina on down through Florida has been significant. Bishop Tom Berlin of Florida and Bishop Ken Carter of Western North Carolina, though the United Methodist Committee on Relief, have asked for our help. I’m so grateful for the immediate response of our Mountain Sky folks who have completely filled four response teams, two who will be travelling to affected areas in Florida in November and two others in December. We may have additional teams in those months as well.
If you are interested in taking part in a response team, you can contact Conference Superintendent Betty Nguyen who will forward it to our Emergency Response teams coordinator Jim Robison-Cox.
We in the West are no strangers to disaster. We have benefitted tremendously from the care, love and response of the denomination. In addition to teams, you can help through financial donations to UMCOR using the Advance number 901670 (Link in comments below). As always, your prayers and concerns lifted up on behalf of all impacted by these disasters are coveted and needed.
Thank you so much. God bless you and be well.
King Soopers/Safeway Gift Cards:
Did you know that 5% of your grocery purchases can be returned to our church if you have a Safeway gift card to load and reload OR have signed on with King Soopers and designated FUMCCR as your nonprofit organization? Did you know these funds help fund projects in and around the church? Would you like to help bring us back into the $2-3K column?
If you frequent Safeway, simply purchase a grocery card from Theresa Kepple and add money. That card becomes the card you use to purchase groceries. If you wish to use King Soopers, go to KingSoopers.com/CommunityRewards and follow Step #1 to create an account and Step #2 to register our organization (FUMCCR). You will need to add our NPO number which is NPO#QM168.

Quote & Prayer of the Week
“You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.” —Henry Drummond
Lord, help us to love each other as You love us – unconditionally and endlessly. Teach us to forgive, to see past each other's flaws as you look beyond ours. Give us the strength to weather any storms that may come, hand in hand, heart in heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Loving God we lift up to you…
